Ship Interior AS is currently one of Scandinavia’s leading contractors for ship outfitting and insulation. As a supplier of engineering, project management, materials deliveries and installation, the company is a preferred partner for ship owners and shipyards.

The administration of R&M is located in Molde, Norway, and the company has 15 project offices stretching from Kolvereid in the north of the country to Flekkefjord in the south. In addition to the branch office at Husnes, R&M has a branch office in Constanta, Romania and a project office in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. In 2008, R&M recorded sales of NOK 480 million and it currently has a 125-strong workforce. R&M Ship Interior as is part of R&M Ship Tec GmbH.

History

R&M’s local connection with Molde began with the establishment of Isenta Molde AS in 1986. Since then, the company has been through a number of mergers and demergers. The R&M name was first established in Molde in 1992, after the German Group, Rheinhold & Mahla AG, acquired Isenta Molde AS.

R&M is currently one of the largest contributors to the local community measured in revenue, number of employees and the worth of order book. The company’s history up to the present day is characterized by management and core skills that have followed the company through these processes, forming a solid platform of skills that the market really appreciates. Vidar Berg, the Managing Director, who was one of the founders of Isenta Molde AS, and has worked within the industry since 1974, says that the knowledge possessed by each of the employees has given the company its leading edge. Their mutual dependency is highly appreciated by both management and employees, and has contributed to creating a developing and good working environment.

Apart from its 125 own employees, R&M also has up to 300 employees among its sub-contractors. In addition to this, the company also buys in products and services for much of its activities locally, making it into an active contributor to the regional economy.
